BLUE VIOLET ASYLUM

‘Asylum’ wastes no time as it jumps directly into a barrage of catchy, folk melodies courtesy of Sarah Gotley’s warm lead vocal. Blue Violet are a duo that take clear influence from the likes of The Mamas & Papas and Fleetwood Mac and bring these 70s sounds into the modern era. They share lead vocal duties as they tell the story of a couple outcast by society for their so-called insanity that find love in the titular asylum. Sarah explains this as “a song that focuses on the isolation of struggling with a mental health issue and the power of knowing you are not alone.” The band are touring the UK with Daytime TV this November. -Dan Peeke
